Joyce was my mum and partner to my dad jimmy for 36 years. In 2001 Joyce was diagnosed with multiple myeloma and for the next seven years she battled with the awful effects of her cancer and the treatments she received. In sept 2007 when it became clear the latest regime of chemotherapy was doing more harm than good we helped her make the decision to stop treatment and concentrate on her quality of life. The last 5 months of her life were the best she had in years and God gave us one last christmas together. On February 27 at 6pm with my dad and i holding her hands mum passed peacefully into Gods care. My mum had a beautiful smile and was so brave and positive. She was completely selfless, always putting others before herself. We loved her so much and will always miss her and look forward to the day when we are reunited.
